  1. Do you have any pictures of this violin I might know but yeah

  2. You need a professional opinion so... yeah. The maker in question is Antonio Stradivari, greatest of all Cremonese luthiers, and there exist thousands of instruments which are imitations of his work.

The label fits the description of the label of instruments made by him 'Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno [date] (This was made by Antonio Stradivari of Cremona, in the year...)', but it wouldn't be difficult to forge a label, wouldn't it?

  3. take it to a luthier who is someone who builds violins or take it to a music shop or google it. its probably worth alot of money now.i would think it is an original but take it to a professional.

  4. Take it into a professional that will know what he his doing.

an appraiser would be a good start.

just make sure that the person that you take it to is legit, because my grandmother once gave her violin to someone, and he CUT it to see if it was real. THAT is unnecessary. so check it out before you take it anywhere.
