  1. If you have egold, then your money is invested in egold.  To invest in anything else you would have to spend your egold and wouldn't have the egold anymore.

There is a list (http://www.e-gold.com/unsecure/links.htm... of places where you can spend egold and/or exchange it subject to the other party’s exchange fees hidden in the difference between what the egold you pay should be worth and the cash price you don’t see.  (They will need to spend your egold payment for cash.  More fees?)  It is not a long list, but it will probably grow over time (unless the idea or egold management fails); but how fast?

Note the fees associated with egold by egold Ltd.  They charge a 1% annual fee for keeping the egold in the account and another fee anytime you spend it. (see http://www.e-gold.com/fees.html)  Their fees may make sense when investing in gold as compared with other opportunities, I don't know.  But they do not make sense for you to pay for a spending account.

Since your bank will pay you to keep your money with them and credit card companies will pay you to spend it (they only charge interest when you don't pay the balance in full every month) you should not have an egold account unless you intend to invest in gold.  And possibly, not even then.
