Where can i learn navigation?

was thinking about buying a small boat and doing fishing trips or scuba diving in spain or somewhere.

  1. If you are going out to sea off Spain, you will need a Spanish certificate of competence, and your boat will need an RCD plate(Recreational Craft Directive) which the manufacturer puts on, to show she is suitable for the intended use.


  2. call your ,local  coast guard office they give boating  class  with nav  and chart reading  etc

  3. There are nautical colleges in

    Glasgow, S.Shields ,Liverpool, Southampton who all run Yacht master courses

  4. Legally you don't require any qualifications in UK.  Sensibly you should do some training so log into www.rya.org.uk.  You will require an International Certificate of Competance (ICC) for many countries in mainland Europe.  This can be arranged though the RYA

  5. The RYA run courses, day skippers licence etc.

  6. I agree with miss London, try looking at your local marina or college might do it as an evening class. Or log onto RYA web site they might have addresses near you that do the course.
