I don't have the money to get lessons or even live near a place

Ah, that's always a dilemma, thing is, Tai Chi almost always needs a teacher, because it looks easy but is hard to imitate. I wouldn't advise going on many internet sites because they're not very detailed, but, you could scrape up the money and buy a DVD online, they're a little bit more detailed, maybe also buy a book about Tai Chi, if you understand the concept, the movements would make more sense, and you would be following more than imitating.
