Where can i learn to play guitar?

i want to learn but i dont have a teacher. are there any good free online lessons?

and can't u play guitar without a pick? cuz all the websites i've seen say u need a pick but my sister plays without one

Every guitarist is different. Some play with a pick and others don't. If you want to learn to play the guitar try about.com. And just because the sites say you need a pick in order to play doesn't mean its true.
