  1. Just a note, Witchcraft and Wicca aren't the same things.

Ronald Hutton's books are a good start.

    and

Irish Witchcraft from an Irish Witch

    by Lora O'Brien

    and

Teaching WitchCraft: A Guide for Teachers and Students of the Old Religion by Miles Batty

  2. In all reality, the best place to learn is in historical folklore. Most cultures have tales that talk about healing and how it's accomplished, though they're largely hidden due to the tendency of Christian clerics to burn anything remotely resembling witchcraft throughout the middle ages (not to mention torturing and killing those who dared to own something like that, whether they could read or not).

Modern-day books tend to be filled with meaningless, trivial drivel that doesn't really answer the questions that most people have. Additionally, nobody's every been able to "prove" that magick actually works on someone else (though I have to admit that a few spells I've tried have worked thoroughly well, even if most haven't).

Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham, and several other authors of modern metaphysical books tend to give bare basic minimums to finding out the truth, but the real problem is that once you exhaust these, where do you go? Most covens (groups of people who practice witchcraft) aren't much farther along than Buckland or Cunningham, both considered expert sources for beginners to consult. Cunningham, in particular, was fond of a solitary "do your own thing" path.

One key in folklore throughout Europe's Earth religions (and something that is shared by many Native American religions) is that the body must be healthy in order to work magickal healings (etc.), because the physical body is the means through which magick operates.

There are few today who could accomplish what others have done in folklore (and I mean the actual tales before the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian-Andersen got hold of them). However, even with this being true, witchcraft itself is very much alive as a religion today, embodied in Wicca and similar European pre-Christian religions, which are experiencing a kind of revival.

Hope this helps you to answer your question!

  3. I would suggest that you pick up a copy of Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham.

    Also check out these sites:

  4. I wouldn't even try it.  I've had experiences that were not good, and no I never studied it, but I believe it exists.  You don't know what you're messing with, and why would you even want to??

  5. I'd recommend 2 books, the 1st is a general guide to witches beliefs and practices, the 2nd is a study and history of witchcraft and hermetic societies up to the late 20th century.

The Witches Way or The Witches Bible by Janet and Stewart Farrer.

Triumph of the Moon by Ronald Hutton.

Any other material by these authors is also good reading.

  6. At the Craft Center at Walmart.

Don't forget to buy cardboard and tape to make your pointed hat.

And don't be too disappointed when nothing happens, since witches are just Halloween Costumes.

  7. First of all I think I should say this: It seems to me that you are inder the impression that witchcraft is the same as black magic: it's not. If you are about asking where to learn black magic in here, I don't think you are about to get an answer.

Having said that, what exactly the heck is witchcraft? In my opinion, any supernatural means to achive something comes under witchcraft. Healing, Hexing, Cursing, etc.

So, where do you learn it? You learn it where it exists! If you are an American, go and research for the native inhabitants of America. The Indian sub-continent is a place full of witchcraft and the knowledge like. In almost any corner of the world you find stuff like that. But you won't find them by sitting in front of a tube; go to a library and do some serious reserch.

  8. grow up, its a waste of time..

  9. You should read books on ancient religion & philosophy for a start.  And as strange as it sounds, read up some on quantum mechanics.  There are a lot of modern pagans who have an interest in that.  You should also practice meditating at least a few minutes a day.  Practice meditation before attempting any spells.

Here are some free resources as well:

  10. "Witch" craft.........do you know what a witch is?  Are you really that angry with the world and what you have become?

Learn to love, witchcraft is destruction.
