  1. Usually they won't be heard outside of redsox and patriot marketing areas unless they are playing a local team (hince xm and sirius make money on the out of town fans)

But here is the official lists for the red sox radio network and patriots radio networks

  2. WTIC in Hartford is your best bet -- great signal on 1080 AM at night almost anywhere.

The local stations also are hit and miss, depending on where you live. Trial and error probably is your best approach when a game is going on.

  3. WEEI broadcasts both Red Sox and Patriots.  If you live in the Boston area it's 850 AM, in Worcester it's 1440 AM.  You could also try 103.7 FM - that's the Providence network, I live in Worcester and it comes in for me.

  4. It would be hard NOT to find those games anywhere in New England on game day. Just tune around (especially on AM for Sox, both AM & FM for the Pats) during game time and you'll find both. Even way up in the hills where reception can be iffy.

    The originating stations are:

Sox: WRKO-AM with  Joe Castiglione and Dave O'Brien, and Glenn Geffner

Pats: WBCN 104.1 FM with  Gil Santos and Gino Cappelletti

My colleague above mentioning WTIC is also right-on, if you're in that area during the day -- or within 100 miles or so at night. And Gearbox gives good links for when you are travelling outside the area.
