Are you talking about corn chips, or tortilla chips? I knew a guy that would call tortilla chips corn chips, and then he'd get frustrated when people couldn't direct him to the right thing. Or he'd get irritated when he'd ask someone to pick up corn chips and they'd bring him corn chips instead of tortilla chips.

Corn chips are those curly weird little salty things. "Fritos" is the most popular brand. Tortilla chips are the ones that are commonly served with salsa, and are usually triangle shaped.

You could always buy corn chips and apply hot sauce to them.
