  1. I don't think you can legally because it hasn't ran out of copyright, although I'm not sure how long it lasts for. You can actually read sherlock holmes books online though because there copyright has ran out as they are very old, I think the original Peter Pan has ran out of copyright too.

  2. Ahmmm...the illegal part is you use a bittorent software, maybe azeurus or ares.search in google "lord of the rings book torrent". Something like that and voila. Its all downloading.

That's what I did in reading Harry Potter. But what I can tell you is that one day I'm gonna buy the book.

I hope you do the same, writers put a lot of themselves if not everything on what they write and they deserve to reap what they've done. (Yeah, the sob story is boring, but that's just how I feel about it)

    Note:

ares is also a p2p software like limewire

  3. you can't, as there is still copyright on it and it would take way too long- there are 1000's of pages and it would crash your computer loading it

  4. This would be illegal to read online. Anything that is not yet in the classic literature domain would be illegal to read. Anything that is in the classic literature domain, however, is perfectly legal to read. Hence I would suggest that if you want to read online books (which is great both in terms of pocket since they would be free and in terms of maintaining teh enviromnet) then you may want to read classic books from good classic literature resources. For example, read:

    http://www.webliterature.net/literature

You would enjoy many works which are classic. They are time-tested and yet immortal, which speaks volumes abuot their qualities.

  5. I think you can get it on sparknotes, I haven't checked, but I think there is one. try it, it might work, good luck!

  6. You shouldn't be reading it for free, if you want something you should be willing to pay for it and get it legally.
