Where can i recycle broken window glass? any use of broken glass?

hi

i have tons of broken flat glass/ window glass and mirrors and i dont know what to do with it. there is no recycling plant in my country.can the broken flat glass be used for something useful? i heard it can be mixed up with cement to make the latter stronger.

  1. If your in the UK take it to your waste disposal Tip there should be one near you. They are geared up to recycle glass and many other items these days. If your in another country check out your local gov they may have a similar set up.


  2. I pick up broken glass and mirrors wherever I can get them.  I make small decorative wooden items.  Some I use for picture framing and the mirrors I can cut into shapes such as hearts.  People love this stuff.  Find a local craftsman who will love to take it off your hands and avoid having to buy new material just to cut it down into 6 - 7 inch pieces.

  3. i've seen them make mosaic pieces with those .use your tile grout and refinish a table top or make an interesting piece of art for your wall

  4. When I was younger, I remember decorating old tins for pot plants.  Covered them in putty or clay then rolled in broken glass for a cool effect.

    My mom is still using these pots for her plants [lol].
