Looking to run for charity, something competitive that will stretch anywhere between 5-10 miles. I have never ran for charity before, and I'm really eager to start, but i have no clue where.

Before I continue let me tell you how to conduct an internet search.  Pick keywords, things that are critically relevant to what you're looking for.  In this case "Michigan" and "run" and "charity".  You can chain them together with "and" or just the plus sign to search only for sites that have all of those words, like so, "Michigan +run +charity".  If you are searching for a phrase, you can put that phrase in quotes to search for those words exactly in that phrase, like so "Aurora High Cliff Triathlon".  Now:

And as a joke I'd like to suggest you can run for charity pretty much anywhere.  Pick out a good running route such as a bike path or a well surfaced hiking trail, and just run down it.  Have the charity of your choice already in mind, along with some idea of a goal.  If you don't meet that goal don't give to the charity, and guilt yourself for having really let down those orphans, unwed teenage mothers, the terminally ill, or flat chested women who are waiting for donations for their breast implants.
