  1. Hold a garage sale, try ebay, exchange and mart, the local paper, a local auction house (if you have antiques) or they may sell house clearences, get a house clearence dealer in or a car boot sale

  2. Go to craigslist.com

and select your state, then city

    SOO MUCH BETTER THAN EBAY

you will have to meet the person, bring it to them or have them come pick it up at your house

craigslist does not charge  to put pictures up and it is absolutely free to use

    UNLIKE EBAY.

  3. Have a garage sale.  I have friends who have moved Countries several times and it's what they always do.

They put a notice in the local paper and then a week or so before their sale, put placards up advertising it and direction pointers to their place.

  4. ebay it cost money to ship though

  5. Sell your stuff on MarketWall:

    http://marketwall.com

MarketWall is free and you can sell your stuff to people near you in the UK.

  6. www.ebay.com

    www.gumtree.com

  7. E-Bay

Take out a classified ad in a local paper

Put up a notice at your work place

  8. Ebay / Freeads

  9. A garage sale is your best bet, but you will likely need a couple of mates to help you run it because if a lot of people turn up, you'll find that some people are nicking off with your stuff whilst you're selling to other people.

If you're in one of the main centres then Gumtree will work a treat.  It's the first stop for most young immigrants who have just arrived and will be looking for cheap second-hand items to furnish their home.

Otherwise, the old-fashioned favourites - the notice board at your church or supermarket, and the classifieds section of your local paper - should work.

If you're still stuck with unwanted items, then donate to charity.  Shipping is so expensive that you really don't want to take anything unnecessary with you.
