I would suggest trying Rings Etc on bank street--they are a wholesaler as well as a retailer.

They buy & sell, see what kind of rate that they will provide to you.

They are around laurier

You can request a kit from an online refiner.  http://www.goldintomoney.com/    Personally I don't know of any places in Ottawa but this selling to a refiner is pretty convenient.

Best option is to go to a jewler and bargain with a few of them and get the best price.  

Before you do this make sure you know the price of gold for the day on the stock market.
