  1. put an ad on the paper

  2. Try the classifieds in the local paper and also try putting adverts in some local shops on their boards instore. I always look at what people are selling whilst queueing in tesco direct. lol

  3. ebay

  4. ebay !

  5. Try "Craigslist"

  6. Sell your sofas on MarketWall:

    http://marketwall.com

MarketWall is free and you can sell the sofas to somebody near you in London.

However, you need to be realistic about the price.  Large used furniture doesn't sell for much, partly because it's so hard for the buyer to collect and move the item.

  7. Try the Classified in the London Times

  8. garage sale

  9. put on http://www.houseofnothing.com

its no fees and easy to list.

  10. fridayad

    loot

    gumtree

shop windows and supermarket for sale boards

local guardian and other local free papers

There are loads of other free ad papers i just dont know all the names.

  11. phone around your second hand shops

take a picture and email it to them they will give you a price

and come and pick it up

saves you all the messing about

    worked for me

    ...

  12. things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them, not what you think they are worth.

If the best offer you've got is £100, then thats what they are worth.

The new sofa market is so cheap its unlikley the second hand market will command good prices.

And with free finance, people can easily pay for new ones.

Your real shock will come when you find you cannot give it away because charity shops will not take it because of the fire retardent label.

  13. put a private ad up and sell them urself.

  14. Try a load of differnt things

    - Ebay

    - Car Boot Sale

    - Try the classifieds in the newspaper

  15. I've tried to sell numerous sofas over the years and in the end I've given them to charity.  Even giving them to charity can be difficult too.  People are inundated with second hand furniture and this is why you will only ever be offered a low price.  I've just had two gorgeous chairs collected by the council.  I paid £750 for each chair.  They had hardly been used and I really wanted to give them to a charity but nobody wanted them.  I couldn't believe it but this is what you're up against.  If somebody has offered you any money at all for them but will take them off your hands I would just take the money and run, I really would.

It's really disappointing I know but as always it is all to do with supply and demand and as we now live in a 'throw away' society there tends to be more supply than there is demand and this isn't really likely to change so just get rid of them the best way you can.

  16. if its in good condition sell it in the loot

  17. car boot sale.

  18. Yes. Put them in your bedroom{s} and you have a sitting room. Don't sell used furniture, only buy it.

  19. Because of transporting them you are really limited to the area in which you live. If you don't want to use Ebay you could use www.gumtree.co.uk

    which has free advertising.

You seem shocked at the price you were offered, you will find that second hand furniture does not command very high prices.
