  1. usually there are local organizations. your coach should know them. if you don't have a coach....go to a mma gym and ask around. you really should train first...if you dont already.

  2. You can fight amateur bouts in most states at age 16.  You have to have a parent sign a waiver since you are a minor.

I know there are MMA gyms that host comps in Savannah, Athens, Atlanta...you should be able to contact them easily through your school and sign up for the correct division.

You could also ask your instructor if he's interested in hosting a small local event - some schools do this as a way to generate interest and create some additional revenue.  It's a hassle, but the exposure can be fantastic for recruiting new students - you can host at your school, a local church gymnasium, school gyms, or outdoors.  You can rent rings / cages if your school doesn't have one or you can have the comp on mats with no ring if you can't afford the rentals.  You can also hire a good ref from the state athletic commission if you don't know any that will volunteer.

There is also the Hayustan Grappling Challenge (hosted in most states throughout the year), tons of Kickboxing comps, Karate/Open Martial Arts tourneys, etc. that have youth divisions.  I recommend competing in any of these to focus on one aspect of your game as well as MMA fights.

How hard have you really been trying?

  3. Your trainer, coach, instructor should be able to help you out with that. At least if you are traing at a fight gym and especially if you are training at a MMA gym. There are tons of small shows that you should be able to get into relatively easily.

If your gym doesn't have any contact or any information on how to get in contact with any of the smaller promotions than I think i would be a littl concerned with how legit it is.

  4. if your with a real trainer, u should be able to talk to him and he can set up a fight... if your not with a real trainer than i recommend not trying to fight yet
