venice beach

science musseum they ask for a small donation.

if you guys like sushi go to sushi mac on 3rd they are very good and its $2.75 a plate their tea is delicious and its free

chinatown, go during lunch hours, they have specials and after wards you can take a walk.

you could go to a farmers market i love the one in hollywood on sundays, they you guys could go to your place and cook a nice meal together.

Try a leisurely afternoon visiting the La Brea tar pits, followed by a stroll through Farmers Market.  There's always all kinds of oddball interesting stuff there, and you can pick up food and desserts very reasonably ala carte from the eateries there.

it depends what kind of atmosphere you want. venice has many shops and crazy street preformers. they have pretty good restaurants. i recommend the canal club or james beach.

santa monica is nice too and a bit more serious. there are great restaurants on 3rd street which is walking distance from the peir.
