  1. It depends how much you want to splash out.

The Marsden Grotto is a quirky place to eat, and you could have a romantic stroll along the beach.

If you're feeling a bit flasher than that, try Lumley Castle hotel.  It will make her feel like a queen.

Mind you, it's arranging for her to get a bunch of flowers at the table that will make it special.  It shows how much you care, and creates a bit of excitement with the staff and other guests too.

  2. have you heard of jukebox hire, www.jukeboxhire.com, it is great for a 60th party. good luck and happy birthday to your wife.

  3. Corsewall in Dumfries and Galloway....fabulous hotel and beautiful scenery. Not cheap but incredibly special - check out their website.

  4. TAKE her for a trip on the London eye and then dinner around Covent garden for the street entertainers.

  5. Book a weekend in the lakes, it's beautiful anytime of the year.

  6. A romantic break somewhere definately its always nice to get away. Plenty of TLC too. Best wishes to youe wife. Whatever you do Im sure she ll love it.

  7. A weekend in the Lake District. Somewhere cosy, try www.bayhouselakeview.co.uk. Right in the middle of Bowness-On-Windermere, overlooking the lake itslef, within easy walking distance of all of the little bistros and restaurants etc. Enjoy!

  8. Treat her to a pint down the local pub and get a kebab on the way home it always works for me!

  9. at this time of year you can usually get a weekend theatre break in the westend.  at a top hotel at a very good price,   nice hotel and a top show , happy birthday

  10. How about booking a trip to the place you spent your honeymoon? Don't forget to arrange for flowers and champagne to be waiting for her in your room!!!

  11. If you are from Newcastle area or North of England how about the Northern Belle Train which is part of the Orient Express.....look online.....the train does various one day events with a great meal and drinks onboard....I have been on two or three and whilst expensive they are a real good day out whether in Summer or Winter...do various things so Google it and have a look  see....Happy Birthday anyway.

    Edit

drjaycat has given a good answer as well...I have been to Corsewell Lighthouse and it is a magnificent setting with views across to Island and Ailsa Craig.
