Where can in learn goat raising?

im living in tagaytay city, cavite. Pls refer me to any insitution or infividual who specilizes in goat raising

I raise goats in the USA, so I can't tell you much on what is available in your area, but if you are wanting to raise meat goats, Kiko or Boer are the best breeds, and Nubian is a good milk breed, you could go for a cross of any of the three. Cross bred animals are often better, and hardier because they get the traits from both species.

Please go to U.P. Los Banos, and in one day, they can suply you with all that you'll need for commercial raising of goats. I would suggest you get the bigger breed ( Nuvian?), insterad of the local ones, which are smaller. These imported strains give more meat, and more milk, while you are giving the same amount of time to care for them.

Also, may I suggest, to that instead of goats, you can also consider raising ostriches, because its meat is even better than cow's meat. During the mad cow scare in England, they used ostrich meat, and they found out it is even better, lesser cholesterol, and cheaper. For you , it is a novelty or exotic product. Try going to Bustos, Bulacan, and see the farm there. There is also a farm in Misamis, featured in GMA 7 but it is far from Luzon. Besides, you will only feed them grass, vegetables, and the regular feeds.
