He will also be attending the Firemans Academy. Are there any privite or public organizations that can provide special fundings or grants to assist individuals who wishes to attend this type of school.

  1. Sure, go down and talk to the financial aid department at his school. They'll help you fill out a FASFA too.

Look into private funding offered as well. I was informed that quite often, loads of money goes unclaimed because students don't know they have the option of private funds and scholarships. That or else they are too lazy to write the essays needed to win 'em.

Beside talking to the financial aid people, go to the library or a book store and look at the books offered for college aid and such like.

    Good luck to you!

  2. The last two respondents are right...filling out a FAFSA form is extremely helpful.  When I recieved aid through FAFSA, I ended up w/ approximately $2500/semester.  Since you can take EMT classes thru your local community college, this would pay for books and everything *as long as you qualify (determined through your family's income).  Make sure he lists the schools were he might be going so that his info is sent to all of them.

  3. www.fafsa.ed.gov is a site for a Free FAFSA form.  He can fill it out and go from there.
