Northern fence lizards can be found along forest edges, rock piles, and rotting logs or stumps from the Mid-Atlantic states Southern New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania across the southeast states to the Great Plains, and south into northern Mexico. They are sometimes referred to as the Prairie Lizard or Gray Lizard.


  3. back yards wooded area's grasslands waste lands. why are u planning to finally do the right thing and put the one u caught back into the wild. hopefully the stress of its experience wont have harmed it in the long term (altho it probably has)  

  4. Captive hatched lizards are available at expos, area pet shops, or can be purchased directly from a breeder.

    Also, they can be observed in the wild, where they need to stay.
