I agree with bmwdrive,,, I work for american and they work the same as other airlines, you cant sell them its illegal and they will take them from you if you tried. We catch people everyday trying to sell their miles on ebay... your best bet is to fly someone on your miles

Technically you cant, and Delta will take all of your Skymiles for trying.  Instead you need to find someone that is going to travel.  Have them price out a ticket, and then get them a reward ticket, and charge them a % of the price that the two of you agree on.  You then just order the reward ticket for your "friend" to travel on.

Its pretty hard to use the miles right now though.  People wont be willing to pay a whole lot I wouldnt think, especially since they now tack on fuel surcharges as well.

If you try to sell award tickets, it's against the rules and people don't like to buy these as your account is linked to the ticket and what if there's a problem with flight re-routing or cancellation? It's probably easiest to redeem for gift cards (eg Amazon, Macy's, etc) then sell the gift cards for cash.
