  1. poland.

  2. Polish

  3. The reality is that it comes from a tight area that now crosses into many countries because of the redrawing of the map of Europe after WWI.

It's Ruthenian Polish, but it's also Slovakian, Moravian, Russian and Czech. If you can tell me where your family settled in the US and the names of any of your ancestors alive between 1920-30, I can help you with copies of their immigration records and the name of their hometown.

  4. its Poland

  5. I'd say Poland for sure because of the aj combo and also the nc ending.  My fiance grew up with a bunch of polish friends, and a lot of them have last names kind of like that one.  Here's a genealogy site with some Zajonc info: http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Zajonc-fam...

  6. Yes, definitely Poland. I had a neighbour with this name, he was Polish.

  7. definetly poland

  8. Polish, Czech or Slovak. any one of the three.

  9. ZAJONC? Actually it sounds like a mix Russian and Polish, MAYBE Norwegian, like your ancestors got married and then arrived in America.

  10. For me is Poland.
