  1. By SA do you mean South America?

    Although it is not in South America there is an awesome resort called "Dreams" in Tulum Mexico that is great. We went there on our honeymoon and can't wait to go back. It is all-inclusive.

  2. I would agree with the Kangaroo Island suggestion. It would be a great place for a romantic and energetic holiday some great restaurants and places to stay and lots of out door places to see. Lots of walks in the parks which are clearly signed so that you know how long to allow for. Lovely beaches entirely to yourself as a long way from civilisation and especially now as the weather is cooling. Make sure to have warm gear and waterproofs in case of rain as the island is wetter than the main land. My last trip we took the utility across on the ferry with our mountain bikes as a lot of the walks in the park can be done on bike---a lot quicker this way and leaves you with lots of energy to view the caves and the seals----good to see if you haven't been yet.

  3. The Clare valley is a great option if you love outdoor activities, because you can cycle the Riesling Trail, and visit some of the finest wineries (Watervale Cellars, Skillogalee, Mitchell, Taylors etc)

    There are a lot of quality B&Bs with romantic settings, open fires etc etc

    In the Clare valley, Mintaro is a quiet little place where almost every building is heritage listed.  Check out:

    Any of the towns in the Valley have a variety of accommodation depending on your budget.

    There are also excellent restaurants.

    Check out SA tourism's website:

    KI is not a bad option, and if money is no object then here is the latest thing in super luxury eco-tourism:

    Still heading south but not on the island are the Southern Ocean Retreats -that would mean travelling for the food and wine, though; for some seclusion and style try the Ridgetop Retreats, designed by Max Pritchard:

  6. If you're looking for romance AND adventure AND food and wine, I'd suggest Kangaroo Island. You can probably find some secluded beach front property where you'd have your privacy and use it as a base for all the sorts of activities you mention.

  8. Fleurieu Peninsula is a beautiful area to visit. You have your wineries in nearby Mc Laren Vale, you have Victor Harbor with its penguins, horse drawn tram, and newly opened Whale Centre. Incidentally, the whale season is on now, till around October. they come so close to shore and are incredible to watch. You can kayak, fish, and enjoy many fab eating places. 14. In South Australia you can have a great weekend doing both romantic and adventurous activities.  I did a bit of research and the southaustralia.com website is really awesome and is easy to find info.  There is also a cool trip planner.

    There are some great places to go:

    * mountain bike riding - http://www.southaustralia.com/3479.aspx

    * diving - http://www.southaustralia.com/DivingSout...

    * horseriding - http://www.southaustralia.com/SportsOutd...

    * take in some AFL if there is a game on

    * the Barossa looks amazing for food and wine - http://www.southaustralia.com/Barossa.as...

    I really recommend checking the site out more as there is so much information.

    Carrie - you are in the Australia - South Australia category - that may help you decide whether the user is asking about South America or another place!
