We are trying to find a nice, reasonably priced pub, carvery or resturant open on xmas day for traditional lunch or dinner. Preferably in Highgate, Hampstead, Crouch End, East Finchley or Muswell Hill areas, but willing to drive further afield. Anyone got any ideas or been to places last year that they can recommend? We have vegetarians in the group as well so if you know any places that cater well for vegies too thats great!

  1. You could try the La Gaffe hotel in Hampstead. I haven't been there for Christmas dinner, but it's a really nice restaurant, and they are advertising their Christmas day thing at the moment. I don't know what you consider reasonably priced - obviously, prices go up hugely for Xmas day in almost all venues. I think La Gaffe is £50 for the full works.

  2. I know a restaurant in Cockfosters that is really good.... Hunters of Cockfosters serves really nice stuff.

  3. You have vegetarians in the group?? Are they vegetarians for religious views? Because if so they would never go out to eat on the Lords Birthday. Well, because no one should ever work on the sabbath of Sunday. More or less his birthday!!! IE: Christmas!! Your server, or servant as Jesus was called, should be at home with his family!!!! Not serving you and your jack*** family!!!! learn to cook at home and never go out to eat and let these places who take away employees from their families on such a great day go broke for the day!!! Oh and if your not religious. which would be hard to believe since your families going OUT for a Christmas event, at least think of the worthless no good employee whose serving you and tip him like 20 buck at the minimum!!

  4. WATFORD gap services?

  5. I've been to Balans sometimes, and loved the food, and it's always open on Xmas day, though you obviously have to make sure to book. There are branches in Soho, Kensington and Earls Court, and probably some others that I've never been to.
