  1. Sometimes its easier for one of the two to stop working.  I know that sounds unrealistic but sometimes realistic.  It depends on how much you spend on daycare, gas, lunches for the child/working spouse.  Deduct the amt you would spend/save and write down the pro's and con's.  I am sure there are also things you can take out of your budget that you really don't need so one of you can stay home.   If there isn't much of a difference in one of you staying home I think you've found your answer on how you can find help with the costs.  Oh, and you can never get back the years you've lost with kids in daycare............nobody can replace mom.

  2. hi dont know where your located but in the uk the working families tax credits give financial assitance for childcare costs etc ,ie minders, not preschools etc, you'd need to contact them as it depends on your circumstances etc and hrs you work but worth a look, x

  3. I really don't think there are any programs designed for the working class!!!  I decided to stay home when my second child was born for that reason, we also get screwed when it comes to the cost of medical bills etc.

  4. Mcdonalds.

  5. Try applying with the YMCA -- they have scholarships and assistance for childcare. You may also want to try some state agencies to see if they can help. My parents worked opposite shifts so they wouldn't need day care.

  6. You might want to check with the management of your workplace.  You can get a break sometimes with the tax break.

  7. If you are in the US check with your local Department of Social Services or the equivalent. Some fund day care for working families on a sliding fee scale with some Federal and State money. It varies greatly, depending on where you live. Also, look for not-for-profit centers. Some of them have scholarship money.

  8. go to your department of workforce services and they can help. Also if you are not married it helps with the financial.  if you are see what they have available to you.  There are alot of grants out there to help working class citizens out there.

  9. The Department of Social Services has several options available, including workforce development (where as long as you are working, they will pay for your childcare costs) as well as cash aid, food stamps and medical help.  I had cash aid, food stamps and childcare costs for a while when my first daughter was born and I had left her father.  It really helped so that I could afford to send her to a good childcare center (I got to pick which one I wanted her to go to) and still work at the same time.

  10. I had to stop working until my 2 were in school. We could not afford daycare.  It was easier for me to stay home.

  11. It depends on the state you live in and the amount of money you make....any daycare could give you the names of a few places to look because they are the ones who get paid by them.
