  1. This may be a bit more costly, but many stamp and coin dealers and hobby shops have stamps from Canada that were intended for collectors. If you can get stamps that are from recent times and are not previously used or intentionally cancelled by the post office, you can just use them.

For example, if they have a set of mint 43c stamps from 2006 and are charging 60c each for them, you can buy a bunch and use these on the SASE.

When I bought stamps on eBay in the past, I actually overpaid someone from USA and he told me he would send me back my change. Since I did not want them sending coins, I told them to just send me back American postage as I could use that for any SASEs that I may need in the future, and that is how I got some stamps to use.

  2. You can't.  And using postage stamps from your own country won't work.  I had to do this once years ago, and I had to have my cousin in the US mail me some postage stamps so I could send a SASE to a company in the US.  (reverse of what you are doing, but same thing)

  3. Check with your local post office.  They will give you the correct information so that everything runs smoothly.

  4. post office

  5. You can't buy Canadian stamps in the US. Canada Post does sell them on their website, but they seem to only ship stamps to addresses in Canada.

What you can do is go to a USPS post office and purchase an international reply coupon. It's a substitute for an actual stamp (or stamps) and the person requiring the SASE can redeem the coupon in Canada for appropriate return postage.
