  1. You cant' easily or for cheap.  But I've seen people rig up controls for Microsoft Flight Simulater PC game and they can pretty much mimic a real simulator.       Takes some time and you need to be handy with simple tools.

Microsoft Flight Simulator gets rave reviews for it's realistic flight and realistic controls.

Play with that little program on your PC and if it thrills you check the web for geeks out there who have gone over the top building their own controls.

  2. Full motion simulators being out of the question, I'll tell you that many of the simulators in use by the military run on technology that makes your cell phone look like a supercomputer.

Microsoft Flight Simulator will probably give you all the fun you can handle, especially with freeware add-ons from places like simviation.com. Go to barnes and Noble and pick up a copy of PC Pilot and see what people do with MS flight simulator. You could literally build yourself a cockpit out of plywood and use a multiple screen setup to be your windows and instrument panel and be playing Top Gun for less than a few hundred bucks

  3. a used full motion simulator for an airbus A310 will cost upwards of 13 million.

plus you will never be allowed to own a military simulator unless it is demilitirized , ie GUTTED.

just buy flight sim x and buy a really good computer and get 3 large lcd 120HZ monitors and yo'll be set

  4. Call CAE - they build a lot of military sims.  However, they aren't cheap.  A brand new C-130J sim will run you upwards of 23 million bucks.  Oh and there's a lot of stuff in there that not just anyone can see or have access to.
