I want to learn JavaScript, but I need a place to learn it from, and a place to practice. Does anyone know where I can find both of these?

  1. I would check out this site, as it is the "home" for all things web-related :

    http://www.w3schools.com/JS/js_intro.asp

Then, once you get the basic idea, you can go here

    http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatutors/

... and check out some of the tutorials.

    Good luck : )

  2. javascript.com

and search wikipedia.com for javascript and follow the external links

  3. I maintain a list of links to BUNCHES of such things at:

    http://home.comcast.net/~richarduie/

Under JavaScript in the right-hand nav-bar there are links to online learning resources for JavaScript at both the novice and expert levels. There's probably other items you'd find useful. Look around, learn well (,grasshopper).
