  1. Start in your neighborhood by distributing flyers listing your skills like babysitting, getting the paper or walking the dogs of your neighbors while they are on vacation. Watering plants or gardening etc is also needed. Then on the flyer write' call for references'. If someone calls you give them the names of people who will vouch for you and say you are reliable. Once you get one neighbor to hire you , then you can use them as a reference and it will be easier.

  2. baby-sitting, paper round, dog walking, grass cutting.

  4. paper round

  5. First off you need to check the labor laws in your area.

Secondly you will need a work permit.  Ask your School Councler, they will either provide the forms, or tell you where to start.

You will find it is quite hard to find work for a 13 year old.  Most businesses are not very likely to hire someone who is under 16 do to labor law restrictions.  They see it as more of a headache than anything else.  The best thing to try is fast food, basic retail (malls are a good example), entry level labor (paperboy, washing cars, ect...)  But the easiest thing you may be able to do is start your own business.

If you are enterprising enough, there are no labor laws for a business owner, and no age restrictions for starting a business.  You may want to try printing up some fliers and passing them out in your neighborhood.  Shovel snow, mow lawns, rake leaves, wash cars, sell lemonade, make pot holders, ect.

Or you can wait unitl you are 15 and try to find work then.  The closer you are to 16 the better chance you'll have.
