There's the Stanford archery club.  They are very active, I have a friend shooting in that club.  They offer intro classes for the community. All equipment provided.  I think if you decide to get serious, you can talk to Sheri Rhodes, their head coach and one of the best coaches in the US.  Sheri was the head women coach for the Athens Olympics.
