Question:

Where can you find cheap flights?

Before you start, yes, I know about airtran, expedia, priceline, cheapoair..., but I heard if you book a flight that leaves in less than 24 hours you will get a great price. The reason is if all of the reservations are not filled within 24 hours of the flight, they are then cancelled which means they'll have empty seats. Therefore, they will post cheap tickets to try and fill the plane. This might sound good, but that will only be for one flight not the return. Is this correct? I heard about this over the weekend, but can't find that anywhere. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

  2. It's a myth that won't die.

In off-season, airlines sometimes have special fares for upcoming weekends, but those are never cheaper than the best sale fare you could get if you sign up for alerts from Farecompare, for example, and there aren't many routes offered, and you never know what you're going to get.

Try http://www.bookingbuddy.com which will search for any sales or last-minute special fares that might apply, and it also can check consolidators which are sometimes cheaper for coast to coast and international flights.

  3. If you want a cheap flight, build a time machine and travel back to a few years ago.

  4. You can wait until very late to try and find a deal, problem is if there are no deals then your travel plans are messed up, I think best to just search for a good airfare deal and when you find one take it so at least you have a seat

  5. Use http://www.travelbargainsites.com to find the lowest going rate.   Then haggle that price down using Priceline or Hotwire.

  6. I can find cheapest ticket for you . Email me at reverse_swing2001@yahoo.com

    Thanks
