Where can you find information on tempurates last summer to compare to this years? In Southern California?

Last year we had a RECORD heat wave , if you want to monitor this years summer season temperates by comparing days this summer to last years says on the same months, how might you go about finding the Data to figure this out as a basis to compare to ? Specifically , June, July, August and September?

If anyone knows, were some of the dates on some of the months we've had so far , higher or the same as the temperates of those dates of last year (2007 vs. current year 2008? )
