i have been interested in building a replica of a 16th century man of war ship. i wouldn't make a 125 foot one, but a smaller replica. i would just like a layout of how the construction of them are. where the supports go and how they water proof the hull. thank you in advance

  1. There are, I believe, excellent studies of the Mary Rose, the English warship of that period. If you are more flexible in the timeline, The 4 volume Le Vaisseau de 74 Canons (The 74 Gun Ship) by J. Boudriot covers absolutely everything about the typical line of battle ship of the 18th and early 19th century.

  2. The plans for the Swedish warship Vasa a 60 gun ship are available from most modeling companies as are other warships of the period simply do a general search using the title model sailing warships and see how many come up the best kits are the wooden variety but they do tend to be expensive.
