I bought a pair of Nike Dri-Fit at local Sports Authority, and found another pair at Sport Chalet for $18. It is not always available on the shelf so that you will have to ask and sometimes get it shipped from another local store.

Big5 Sports also had it for about $20 when I was looking for something else.

By the way, Asics knee pads could be cheaper at around $15, but quite bulky. Those other cheaper ones from Target, Walmart, or K-mart would not let you feel good either, but they work.
