  1. If you don't know much about handicapping or just want to see how more successful people think then you can subscribe to a service which will give you plays and charge you a certain amount per period you subscribed to.  Having said that a lot of these guys don't even make money on the picks although they do from selling them so look for a long term positive track record and the record you're looking for is profit not win percentage.

It's also good to mess around yourself either on paper or betting small amounts like $5 a game or so if you can afford to lose a little for some education.  It's better to bet with real money rather than for "fun" as there's a bit more stress involved with the real ones and you need to be able to handle this.

As a rule though, those of us who have this figured out aren't going to tell you even for money what we're really doing here since that would be a trade secret of sorts and as a rule if the folks selling the picks were that good they wouldn't need to bother with at least long term as you can make 7 to 8 figures a year with the bets alone if you have the capital to do it and the subscription sales is chump change compared to this.  Having said this though there are people who sell picks which make money year after year but you got to shop around.

I'm thinking of putting up a sports betting site soon with some free picks and I'll pass along the site url in my signature link when it's up.

  2. I would suggest not paying for any sports wagering plays there are quite a few sports handicapping forums on the net where alot of solid handicappers post plays and analysis for free. check out  http://www.sharpsquaresports.com  they have a rundown on some of the higher end sports forums that are free to register at along with deals with some of the highest rated sportsbooks.
