My place! - I cook the best steak around, an excellent very-well marbled Rump or Sirloin steak, hung for no less than 21 days (weight about 300-400grams, cost about £6-8 each), with a combined mixture/marinade of garlic, smashed peppercorns, a pinch of salt, some extra virgin olive oil, rubbed into the sides (very important) of the steaks, and then marinaded for about 30 mins to an hour.. then placed onto a sizzling Cast-Iron Le Creuset Grillit, and cooked to however your liking - 2 mins each side for rare, rested for 6 mins, 3 mins for medium, rested for 4 mins - don't even think about asking me to cook you a steak well-done!

Then I take the steaks off, and rest them by placing on a rack over a plate, loosely covered with tin-foil - then I prepare the sauce by de-glazing the pan with a glug of good red wine, scrape the glistening good stuff stuck to the pan off, then add some fresh vegetable stock, a sprinkle of capers, reduce it by half, then stir in some double cream - thicken slightly and then pour over the steaks which have been placed on warm plates..

A side of mashed potatoes with spring onion infused butter and milk, a sprinkle of black pepper and a few leaves of Rocket salad served with nice big glass of say CVNE Vina Real Rioja Gran Reserva 1996 - Viola! Best you've ever tasted...

I live in Angus (East Scotland  btw) where the Angus cattle originated and are still quite dense in population so we get great steak in our butchers and as were nowhere near  London it wont cost us half our wage packet lol

Angus is a really cheap nasty chain (sorry for any offence!).

The best steak comes from the Gaucho Grills - pricey but excellent.

Popeseye in Blythe road, W14 (near Olympia). Only open for dinner, only do steaks, chips and a bit of salad. Absolutely awesome.

Steak in London is SO overpriced. You can get a great steak at ASDA for £3 and cook it yourself.
