  1. There is a lot of material, but don't worry, the AP is not as bad as you think!

First off, I'd say take notes or read through the chapters in your book (don't fall behind in class, or, if your class is clearly behind, definitely work ahead). If it helps you, make note cards with important names and dates. If you don't feel like doing that, Spark Notes has very brief but helpful cards with important names and dates that at least help identify what IS important.

There is also another book that you can get (I'm not sure if you can order it online, but if you can find it or if your teacher is willing to order it)... AMSCO has a FABULOUS US History review book. No joke, this book got me through my midterm, AP, and final. It obviously doesn't cover every minute detail of US history, but it definitely grabs all the important events, breaks it down into topics and details, and is very very very organized.

If you can't get that book (although I really would track it down if possible), I would definitely suggest going to the library (or a book store, if you prefer) and grabbing the test prep or review books in there. The AP review books can sometimes be a little less difficult though, so if you're feeling very ambitious, I would recommend picking up the SAT II books for US History as well - they are far more fact/detail oriented. You can copy the pages or just work on a separate sheet of paper and do a number of practice questions. The more you do, the more you'll remember (and that's really all this test is about - memorizing and regurgitating). Take note of what events are not familiar while you're taking the test and look them over when you have the time.

And... Finally... there are a number of websites out there with facts and review questions/help, but I personally like this website: http://www.course-notes.org/us_history/

It has facts upon facts upon facts. If you have time to look it over, I highly recommend it!I hope this helps and good luck!
