The Alton Towers website has the following information:

"We recommend that all valuable items and bags are left at home. Alton Towers cannot accept responsibility for items brought to the Park but lockers are available to store your belongings during your visit. You will find storage areas for loose items, belongings or shoes (on certain rides) available at most rides throughout the park."
