Where can you see that a Jeppesen chart isn't up to date (or that a new, revisioned, chart is out)?

I mean, when I have an IFR enroute chart of the northern part of the USA, it's written on it from which date the chart is valid, but not until when.

  1. Twice per year Jeppesen will send you a revision checklist as part of your subscription.  You are required to go through each chart in your library, check its currency, and order new ones if your revision is out of date.  I believe you get up to 40 approach charts for free but there may be a slight cost for en route charts.

  2. Jepp publishes a US Enroute / Area Chart Currency List. Enroute/Area Chart List uses the revision

date to confirm the currency of each chart. When checking

the dates on the Enroute/Area Chart List, the date listed should correspond to the most current

(latest) revision date on the chart. This list will be updated only when an Enroute/Area Chart is issued.

  3. You'll need the revision record that comes with each revision. They are valid until revised.

  4. Do you have a subscription?  If so, check the front matter pages.  I believe it's page 901, but I don't have any charts available to me to check for sure.  There is a page that is revised whenever a chart is revised.  It lists the issue date for all of the enroute charts.

If you don't have a subscription, your chart is out of date if it is more than 14 days old.  Even if the chart itself is not revised, Jeppesen publishes "chart NOTAMs" every 14 days to textually update the information on the chart.  These chart NOTAMs will be reissued every 14 days until a new chart is issued to incorporate this information.
