I have a 1979 GS425L. The tank was broken into last week and needs to be replaced. I have noticed with my tank it has the long lock on top of the tank. Is it possible to replace with a different Suzuki tank that just has the locking cap? Are there after market tanks I could purchase? I am also interested in replacing the step up seat with a flat seat. I am overhauling this bike and would like some advice if anyoen has it! Thanks!

  1. Look up "Bent Bike" in Lynnwood WA

I cant beleive you waste money on ricers that old.

  2. You "can" replace it with another tank, either aftermarket or off of another model.

Best advice i can give is just to go get another factory tank.

Or spend a good thousand on a custom one.

To the step up or flat seat. Go with the flat one. Vintage looking :P

  3. Parts are getting Rare but not impossibble to find. Check out this site, there is a good Tech. forum and Parts wanted forum  .

  4. Try here: http://mcsalvage.com/

I think he still has my old one.

The L model had a stepped seat as original.

For a flat one, use a seat from an E model.
