Hi there,

I'm looking for an ethernet cable splitter but not the usual sort. Is there a such thing as an ethernet cable splitter that has a switch on it so you can switch the connection between the two different connection output ports?

So a cable from the modem goes into this splitter, two cables come out of it and go into two computers, and by flicking the switch on the splitter you can choose which computer you want to have internet access.

Could you tell me where I might be able to find this? Thanks a lot.

  1. no such thing, you could make one but your connection would be junk. routers are used to split the bandwidth and assign IP address

  2. Simply pick up a router with am ethernet switch built in.  it will allow both pc's to go on line at the same time

  3. just a hub! that is all you need!

  4. Here is a cheap network switch box that will allow you to select where you want your ethernet to go to. http://www.wiredzone.com/ItemDesc.asp?IC...
