Where could I learn first aid?

And would it cost? I am increasingly finding myself in situations where it would be very useful!

Me and my sister are in St John ambulance so just type it into google and it will show you a group near you and send you some contact details. It costs us £1 every week but the unifrom is quite expensive =]

If you want to REALLY help out, join your local Fire Department as a First Responder.  They will pay for you to take the course and you will learn alot more than what you would in First Aid!

If you don't mind paying for a course then all you have to do is go onto the St John Ambulance website www.sja.org.uk and book yourself onto one.

If you dont want to pay-why not concider joining your local St John Ambulance adult division. You can do this through the website as well. Just search for the division nearest you and it should give you a contact number to ring if you are interested.

Its good because they will put you through the courses you want to go on for free and also you will get some practice in on pretend patients to build up your confidence. When your ready you can also go out on duties as a first aider.  But you wont be made to do anything you dont want to do.
