Try looking under Java man - he was found on the Indonesian islands.  I believe this is what you're after.

I believe you refer to Homo floresiensis the recently discovered species on the Indonesian island of Flores.  They had skulls the size of grapefruits and long arms in comparison to the rest of the skeleton.  The specieation seems to be the result of dwarfism combined with isolation.  Try googling 'Are Hobbits real' to find more links but here is a good one from the BBC with a nice picture of the skull and an artistic recreation.
