Sky and Telescope magazine have a nice web thing that draws star maps.

yup, skyandtelescope.com is a great site, look down the left side and find "interactive sky chart"--lay in your location, time, etc. and go have fun.

Also, I love this one--go to the thinkastronomy site and download "Where is M13"...  this stuff is great!  It will let you see our galaxy in 3D view, so you can see where stuff is, above , below, where ever.
