  1. There is no 1790 or 1800 census for VA.  In 1810 looks like he lives in Westmoreland, VA.

William and David are on the 1810 census in Westmoreland, VA.

You can search google books for David Monroe of Westmoreland.  There are a lot of entries for him.

" was wondering if anyone might be willing to post the complete text of William Monroe's will (the William Monroe who died in 1737 in Westmoreland Co., VA) or be willing to send a copy?"  (Could this William Monroe be David's father or even grandfather??)

    David MONROE

Birth: Abt 1750 in Westmoreland Co., VA

Father: William MONROE b: 1690 in Westmoreland Co., VA ; d: 1760 in Westmoreland Co., VA

Mother: Rachel PIPER b: 1734 in Westmoreland Co., VA; d. 1775 in Westmoreland Co., VA (William's 2nd wife); Married: 1749 in Westmoreland Co., VA

  3. Hi,

I'm looking through the Ancestry census records for Virginia (Virginia Census, 1607-1890), and am not finding a David Perryman Monroe, or David P., or D. P., or D. Monroe (or Munro, or Minor) in 1790 or any year within that database.

Are you sure they lived in VA, and is it possible that William's father could have gone by a different name?

    Sorry I couldn't help more!
