There intensity was way below par. They expected to win the game and thought they just had to show up. St George did everything in their power to let Manly win with the amount of dropped ball and stupid mistakes but Manly could not put them away. That is the reason why Matt Orford can't get a start in any rep team. Orford lacks the consistency and mongrel to put opposition teams away week after week.

We just turned up expecting the win, Des has always said he's most nervous playing the below par teams, as he is aware that we just take them to lightly. I'm positive next time we suit up against the Red V we'll win, but losing against teams we should beat is getting to be a regular occurrence (Knights, Sharks, Dragons)

What Manly is good at is piling on 30 more points when they are 18.  With exception of Stewart, they have no backs they can rely on to make a play.  Need Monaghan

Sorry to say it mate, but Menzies (the first time ever) dropped the ball for them. A game only has a handful of try scoring opportunities and the Beaver blew it. Mind you according to David Middleton the Saints hold an incredible winning record at Brookvale. I also think that Watmough's concussion cost them dearly, as he fell off a tackle that led to a try shortly afterwards. Lucky for the Saints Brett Stewart dropped a ball that would have led to a try, very similar to his effort in the Origin. Overall the Sea Eagles need to play Jamie Lyon in the centres and run Orford at five-eighth they really needed to put an offer to Kimmorley to fill the role at halfback.

Look at the great teams, they've all had quality ball playing 5/8ths and Orford could be one of them (Inglis, Lockyer, Marshall, Daley, Lewis, Handley, Fulton)  they need another Cliffy Lyons before they can even come close to a premiership.
