Question:

Where did all of my yahoo groups messages go?

I am the group moderator and suddenly our group page no longer displays the log of messages. Nor is it allowing anyone to post messages. All of the e-mails just come bouncing back. This group has not been idle for more than a week. The only thing I can access is the members list.

  1. If you are the group owner, follow items #1, 2 & 4.  If you are a moderator, follow #1, 2 &3.

    1) Sign in to group and click on Management.

    Under Group Settings, click Messages.

Scroll down to Posting and Archives. Click "Edit".

Make sure all of the Posting Options are correctly selected.  If they are not, select the appropriate ones.

Under Archive Options>Access, make sure "Members" is selected.

After making your changes, click "Save Changes".

    2)  For the other group features, click Management. Under Group Settings, click Web Tools. Next screen, click "Edit" to right of "Web Tools".  Check the settings of all of the items listed and make changes as necessary.  Then click "Save Changes".

    3)  If you cannot access the Group Settings, see if your moderator privileges have been changed.  Click on Members then click the Moderators tab.  Underneath your screen name, click Edit Membership.  Scroll down to Moderator Privileges and see if your privileges have been changed or eliminated by the owner.  If so, you should contact the owner to ask why this happened.

    4)  If the above doesn't take care of your problem, contact Customer Care using the Groups Tech Support form:  http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

  2. what does the bounced mail state? could be the owner reset some group settings- ask them or check the yourself if you have the privilege.

if that's not it, your group is down
