Where did all the good parents go?

I am apalled by the behavior of these children, it seems like nowadays kids just aren't kids anymore. I am really scared for my son when he gets older..I mean living in a world with parents (like the ones of these children in the video). So sad..opinions?

I have a beautiful boy, 6 years old, and i would not tolerate for a minute!  My son loves to dance, and is really good at it, but teach them to have respect for themselves.  It is one thing for them to be dancing alone like this...but when you have kids that young grinding on each other...come on!

The good parents went away when the people that didn't have children went to authorites because they thought that repremanding children on their bottoms was the same as punching them or whipping them.  No spankings equals no respect.

I understand your frustration in this day and time of raising little ones! My son is 30 now, and I thought society was bad when he was born, but now I see how much worse it has become and I am so bewildered for my grandchildrens future sometimes that it is very scary! People have simply GOT to get their lives back on track and their priorities back in order or I don't know what our future generations have to look forward too!! It seems to me that a lot of todays young parents simply don't have, or care to have, the parenting skills needed to raise their children properly, nor do they want help from their families or in-laws in these areas; they also  don't seem to be interested in religion or raising their children under Gods laws, and seem to take pride in the fact that they aren't raising them in church "like their parents raised them"!! Most of these young people don't seem to think any moral teaching is of any importance at all, and our country simply will not and can not stand on this kind of thinking for long!!

At the same time, I see many young parents out there who are really doing outstanding jobs parenting, and I always take the time to stop and tell them what a great job I think they are doing!! They are the ones you see that are inter-acting with their children in a positive way in public places, talking to them, soothing tired little ones who  are cranky instead of yelling or ignoring the whining, putting their children first instead of whatever it is they need to get done; these young adults  are truely parents--ready to love and value their children for their whole lives--they have made them a priority;but, more importantly, they have made God the first priority in their lives!!

If ALL OF US AS PARENTS WILL MAKE GOD OUR FIRST PRIORITY IN OUR LIVES, THEN OUR SPOUSES, THEN OUR CHILDREN, THEN OURSELVES, WE WILL HAVE A MUCH BETTER LIFE!!!

This is the formula for raising good, godly children!!

Stupid people have kids every day. It's just something we have to deal with and shield our kids from.

Yes, it amazes me that it was even going on, but then to have adults around and nothing being done....who is to blame? The kids are going to do it unless they have someone tell them not to....which obviously didn't happen there. Those kids are old enough to know what is right and what is wrong, as long as there is guidance. I would be ashamed of myself if one of those kids belonged to me.

**It's cute when a toddler shakes their butt trying to dance. It's disturbing see kids 6-8 grinding on each other. There is a difference.

They went away along with personal accountability.  

It's not the parents' faults the schools are getting shot up.  It's the evil video games the kids are playing.  It's not their fault the kids are dealing drugs.  It's the influence of rap music.

Basically, parenting is a faultless profession anymore.  You can do no wrong, because nothing is ever your fault.  And if someone says it's your fault, you sue them for slander.

Wow-that's pretty disgusting alright-culture nothing-that is extremely inappropriate for children of that age. It makes our job as parents even harder. However (hopefully) this is an isolated video and you should remember that as parents you have alot of influence in your childs life. I just try to do the best I can and pray every day that God keeps my child safe and secure. My goodness and people wonder why 12 year olds are pregnant? Someone taught that little girl to do that and that is extremely sad to me:(

That little boy was enjoying it!  I am sure he probably had a little woody.  Do you also see the teenagers around and the person on the left in white like making sure she didn't go away when she got up towards the end.

Your title should have been written differently..lol..Because not all parents are bad. Just some are. Without even knowing what is on the video, I am assuming it had something to do with some girls since you say something about "no offense to little girls and that you are happy you have a boy." Whatever happened in the video obviously wasn't something appropriate. I couldnt watch the video because it said there was an error. BUt reading the warning, I know it has something to do with s*x. My only thing about your post is, you say  "no offense to little girls and that you are happy you have a boy." One day your son will get curious about s*x and will be a sexual being just like girls are. Of course I am not saying that your son will do what was done in the video or that you will video tape him being curious about s*x. Dang I wish that video would have worked for me because then I could better explain myself as to what I am trying to say.

That is REALLY messed up!!!  

All we can do is teach our kids right from wrong, set as many good examples as we can, and hope and pray that they make the right decisions.

There is a pretty bad mother living next door to us, but so far I have been able to point out the bad things and how miserable the kids are.

So far my kids are ok and I hope they continue that way.

Talk to your child at home about whats going on.  You cannot shelter your child from everything, but you can give him or her advice on how to react when he/she hears or sees something.

Where did all the good parents go?

There are two, right here - one of them is typing this answer, the other is earning a living to support the family.

We homeschool, keep to honest group activities (field trips, play groups with other HS children, soccer, ballet) and have our children with us all the time.

My kids are 1 and 7.  The older one's become the most popular girl on the block because she's honest, plays fair, and acts appropriate for her age.

The trouble with the parents out there is that most families require two incomes.  (I know ours could benefit from additional money, but our family decided it's not worth the trade-off of having someone else raise our kids.)  I think it's selfish parents who would rather have the extra money for their premium cable, newer cars, flat screen TVs than have the TIME to spend RAISING their children in a respectful manner.

Sometime when you think of it, figure out what a household makes, take out daycare costs, half of the transportation and car maintenance costs, and see if it's really worth it.  Can parents cut back? Certainly.  Will they? Most likely not.  Unfortunately, stupid breeds...quickly...

That is honestly disturbing and they were so young! I can't beleive that parents let these things happen and not think anything bad of it. A little kid like that should not be dancing in that sort of way, nor should she be on her hands and kness with a little boy like that. Where are her parents at ??

Who knows, I think partialy the reason to this is down to early age pregnancy and couples entering parenthood before they've even completed their teenage life.

I mean,  unless a female is certain she wants a baby at the age of 16 - fine.  The reality is,  the majority at that age don't and due to their own mistakes or misfortunes end up in labour.

It makes sense when you think about it.  At 16, you haven't even started experiencing life fully - a quick fling with the highschool stud and boom, you're preggers.  Thats not experiencing life nor is it preparing you for parenthood, although i'm sure there are fast learners out there.

Also some parents simply spoil their kids rotten and fail to teach them moral values.

I find it a bit disturbing that judging from this video clip you just assume there are no good parents out there. No, I don't condone what's been going on in that clip, but I also don't think there's a need to generalize and just put all parents into the bad-parent corner.

It is up to you how you raise your son, yes, there will be outside-influences, but in the end, you're the pacemaker. As for being thankful you got a boy? Boys can be just as bad, girls can just be traced better, since they're the ones who get pregnant...
