  1. The use of mirrors began during ancient times when humans first saw reflections in a river or pond. This led to the invention of mirrors using metals (commonly copper), flattened and polished.

    The first glass mirror production started in Venice in 1291. Mirrors were then created to reflect an image perfectly through the silver painted on the mirror's back after it was polished by a tinning solution acting as glue. The silver was then coated with copper solution, which acted as the silver's protection, before it was finally coated with a heavy layer of paint
