The gum above my second tooth from the back (only one tooth on one side) has receded so much so that it's as if someone cut out a chunk of my gum. It also seems to be a little puffier (hard, but puffy) than the same area on the other side. I doubt it's due to bad oral hygiene, because while I don't floss often, I do brush every day. In fact, I get compliments all the time on how white and "perfect" my teeth are. Could it be I've brushed my gums too hard? Is there another reason?
Thanks for the help!
